Radio Silence

It has been a while since I posted something new here. Chronicles isn’t dead, but I have been very busy with other things. Chronicles is and will always be a labour of love, and I can only spend my free time on it, of which I don’t always have enough.

That said, I will return soon. We have planned to open up a forum on which Chronicles can be discussed and where people can suggest new Enemies, new Adventurers, new items, new adventures, and discuss the game.

In the meantime, happy gaming everyone!

On the horizon

No new releases today, but I just had to get something off my chest.

After I released information on the release of Core Book I on Tabletop Gaming News, I met Pseudok through e-mail. He was kind enough to provide me with thoughts, ideas, and was very heavily into playtesting Chronicles, giving me an immense wealth of feedback.

Apparently inspired by the game, he decided to write his own adventure, chapter I of which was uploaded not too long ago. He just sent me the first draft of chapter II, and let me tell you, it is scary awesome!

It will be at least a couple more days before we can release chapter II, but it will be worth the wait!

In the meantime, happy gaming everyone!

Hey everyone,

We have just released a new Adventure Book, entitled Power Corrupts – Chapter 1. It is written by Pseudok from Every One of Them, and he is already feverishly at work on the follow-up chapters. It is a very exciting adventure with some very interesting twists to the theme of undeath.

Hope you guys enjoy his work! I know I do!!

Defining Features list is here!

It was about time, but you can now find a list of Defining Features to use when starting or introducing a new Adventurer.

Defining Features are basically a means of telling the GM what you want out of the adventure, but some also grant you in-game bonuses. How they work is explained in the Core Book, and now we finally have a list for you.

We encourage everyone who has a good idea for additional features to drop us a note, and we may add them in an update.

Head down to the download section to find the file.

Best wishes,
Daniel

The update attacks!!

Alright, the update is here!

My apologies for the last post. It was more putting the pressure on myself to get going than anything else.

Check out the new Core Book I. The most important update in it is the Injury Table, which was very, very wrong! Thank goodness I found some great insights in the workings of the 3D6 bell curve to create a very interesting Injury Table. Not only that, death is a much greater possibility now, which is exactly the way it should be.

Additionally, the way Skills are learned are a lot different now. It is explained in the Core Book as well as on the Adventurer Sheet. Basically, now you start with two skills and

Other than that, we made some clarifications in how the STR and DEF ratings work. Nothing major though.

Lastly, with death being much more of a threat, we added “bandages” to the first adventure “A New Start”, a (great) idea from Pseudok. They will be another common item, aside from the well known potions.

Download the new rules from the download section now! All the best, and happy gaming!
